6 Major events occurred in the land of Arab in Ramadan

Arab is the land that is full of Islamic events, yet there are six major incidents which happened in the blessed month of Ramadan. Ramadan has tremendous significance in the Islamic realm as this is the month in which Muslims get a huge reward. No doubt, as Ramadan starts all the bad spirits are arrested and put into dungeons.

Several people make their arrangement to visit the Holy Kaabah in order to perform Umrah as they know that Allah (SWT) grants more than seventy-time reward. Moreover, Prophet ﷺ said that performing Umrah in the blessed month of Ramadan is equal to Hajj reward. 1. The Holy Quran was revealed

Prophet ﷺ spent most of his time in the Cave of Hira for meditation to know the realities of the universe. And one of the days of Ramadan Jibrael (AS) came with the first revelation of the Quran. “Read the name of thy Lord Who created the man with congealed blood. Read! Your Lord is most bountiful Who skilled man with a pen which man did not know before”.

2. The Battle of Badar was won

In fact, the Battle of Badar was fought between Muslims and Pagans on the 17th of Ramadan. No doubt, Muslims were few in numbers, on the contrary Pagans were plenty in numbers. It was the blessing of Ramadan that Muslims won the Battle of Badar as all they had kept Sawm (Fasting).

3. Makkah was conquered

In the eight years of Hijra Prophet Muhammad ﷺ entered in the Holy sanctuary of Makkah along with several Sahabah. That was the day of 18th of Ramadan and Muslims got conquered the City of Makkah without any bloodshed. And that day the whole idol worshiping met to end and the flag of Tauheed had been hoisted.

4. Khadijah (RA) passed away

No doubt, who loved from Allah (SWT) get their last day of life in the blessed month of Ramadan. Khadijah (RA) was the beloved wife of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ who died in the tenth year after the Prophethood in the Holy month of Ramadan. The year is called “The year of grief”.

5. The death of Hazrat Ali (RA)

A man known as Khawarij attacked Ali (RA) during the Salah and killed him on the 17th of Ramadan in the year 40 AH in Kufah.

6. The people of Taif accepted Islam

After twenty years of animosity to Prophet ﷺ and Islam, the tribe of Thaqif from the city of Taif embraced Islam. That was the month of Ramadan in the 9th year of Hijra.

The Prophet ﷺ said, “As the month of Ramadan starts, the entrances of the heaven are unlocked and the gates of Hell are locked and the devils are lock up.” (Imam Bukhari)

Abu Huraira (RA) narrated: The Prophet ﷺ said:” whoever keeps fasting during Ramadan with pure faith and hoping to attain Allah’s rewards, so all his past sins are forgiven.” (Imam Bukhari)
