Sandakphu Trek – A complete Hiking Guide

SANDAKPHU TREK is a popular activity among tourists all over the world. The four massive peaks bound this trek – Mount Everest, Kangchenjunga, Lhotse, and Makalu offer stunning views of the Everest region.

The trek is a moderate to strenuous trek that takes about Eight days to complete. The trailhead starts at Dhotrey, which is about a four-hour drive from NJP. From Dhotrey, it is about a Three-day hike to reach Sandakphu. The first day of the trek is relatively easy, but the second day involves a steep ascent of nearly 1,000 Feets.

The best time to trek is from March to June or from October to March. These months offer the best weather conditions for hiking, with clear skies and mild temperatures. Avoid trekking during the monsoon season from June to September, as the trails can be wet and slippery.
