How to pick a lock?

Lockpicking is more art than technique and one can get better with practice. It requires patience and a feel for the intricate mechanism to master the same. The easy to understand the process of lock picking called “Scrubbing” which uses conventional lock pick tools has been given below:

  1. Working the bottom of Key Hole with the Tension wrench.

People think it is the Pick that does the real job. While the significance of the pick cannot be ignored, it is the tension wrench that assists the pick to clear the driver pins of the shear line. Just insert the tension wrench in the bottom part of the keyhole and twist it towards the side just as a key would. A slight pressure is required to raise the driver pins above the shear line. The torque should be sufficient for the drive pins to catch the plug when they drop down.

  1. At the top of the Key Hole insert the Pick.

With the tension wrench inside the bottom part of the keyhole, insert the pick at the top of the lock and slide the rake all the way back. Use the pick to check for the pins and keep applying pressure with the tension wrench.

  1. Use the Rake to set the pins.

Now slide the rake to and fro and get a feel for the pins. Any pin can be set with the rake by scrubbing against them. Continue scrubbing for setting the pins until the lock disengages and opens.

They say practice makes a man perfect. With time one can refine the lock picking skills and advance to learn newer techniques. For it is unsure when the situation demands your handiness, it is wise to make use of the best lock picking tools from Keymam available at attractive prices.
