Mother Teresa’s Life

Mother Teresa, originally named Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu, was born on August 26, 1910, in Skopje, now the capital of North Macedonia. She dedicated her life to serving the poorest of the poor and marginalized communities, becoming a symbol of compassion and selflessness worldwide.

Inspired by a calling from God at a young age, Mother Teresa joined the Sisters of Loreto and eventually founded the Missionaries of Charity in 1950. Her tireless work in the slums of Kolkata, India, and her unwavering commitment to helping those in need earned her widespread recognition and admiration.

Mother Teresa’s life was characterized by her simple lifestyle, humility, and unconditional love for others. She received numerous awards for her humanitarian work, including the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979.
