Before Your Reiki Session, Here’s What You Need to Know
You’ve made an appointment for your first Reiki session, and you’re probably a little anxious about it. You may have even viewed a Reiki session on YouTube to understand better how it’s done. Your feelings for them may have even been mixed. Yes, I agree. That was precisely how I felt in my first session. As a result, I’ve decided to explain what a Reiki session entails, to make it more understandable.
What You Can Do Before Your Reiki Session:
One of the most frequent questions we hear is, “Is there anything I should do in preparation for a Reiki session?” There isn’t much you should do before a Reiki session, but here are a few tips for those who want to get the most out of it.
Bring up anything you’d like to talk about, such as intense feelings, a lot of stress, mental tiredness, mental health issues, bad habits you’d like to break, or behaviors you’d like to stop.
Let us know about any physical limitations, such as a history of injuries or medical issues. It is best to avoid consuming highly processed sugar products like candy and ice cream for at least 12 hours before and after the session.
During The Reiki Session:
At the outset of the reiki session, we begin by having a conversation.
Do you have a specific reason for coming in for a Reiki treatment? If there’s anything in particular you’d like to work on, it is good to make this known. For example, you can share any medical details or health-related difficulties if you’re now having treatment for any medical conditions (e.g., anxiety or depression) or currently coping with any significant stressors in your life. Whether it’s a new baby or a new pet in the house, a new job, or a new relationship, several factors might cause stress. A new job may have left you with many obligations that aren’t clear.
You may also be intrigued by Reiki as a practice for self-healing. Is it personal growth and self-improvement, a desire to tap into your own heart and connect with the universal consciousness? Is there anything you’d like to improve about yourself to make proper, smarter, and more emotional decisions in the future? Perhaps you’d like to learn how to express yourself better and communicate with others? Reiki can help if you’re struggling with feelings of self-worth, self-esteem, loneliness, setting boundaries, or lack of self-confidence.

The following items should be avoided for at least two days following a Reiki session as a precaution:
