Indian Athletes Shine at Paris 2024 Olympics

At the Paris 2024 Olympics, 117 Indian athletes, including five reserves, are competing for medals and sporting glory from July 26 to August 11. The Indian team is participating in 69 medal events across 16 sports, including archery, athletics, badminton, boxing, equestrian, golf, hockey, judo, rowing, sailing, shooting, swimming, table tennis, and tennis.

Neeraj Chopra, who made history by winning gold in the men’s javelin throw at Tokyo 2020, is part of a 29-member Indian athletics team. He aims to add to India’s medal tally at these Games. Other notable athletes include badminton star PV Sindhu, weightlifter Mirabai Chanu, and boxer Lovlina Borgohain, who are returning as Olympic medallists. The Indian men’s hockey team, led by Harmanpreet Singh, also features some returning players.

Manu Bhaker

Manu Bhaker made history by winning the first medal for India at the Paris 2024 Olympics, securing a bronze in shooting and becoming the first Indian woman to achieve this feat. She further distinguished herself by winning a second medal in the mixed team 10m air pistol event with Sarabjot Singh.
