The government has adopted from time to time in India since Independence that is directed towards the social and economic welfare of India. The Narendra Modi Government has adopted various programmes and schemes to aid economic development in the country. These schemes are directed towards amelioration of the poorer sections of the society. Listed below are the schemes that have been adopted by the Narendra Modi Government for the purpose of providing economic development to India:

  • Pradhan Mantri Jan DhanYojna

Pradhan Mantri Jan DhanYojna is a national plan of the Narendra Modi Government that has been adopted to provide assistance to citizens in the financial sector.  Various financial services like remittance, pension, deposits and savings account, insurance etc are provided to citizens at a very affordable rate under the Pradhan Mantri Jan DhanYojna.  This scheme was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 14thAugust 2014.

  • Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti BimaYojna

Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti BimaYojna is another successful finance scheme of the Narendra Modi Government which was announced by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley during the year 2015. The major benefit of Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti BimaYojna is that it is a renewable insurance scheme.  Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti BimaYojna offers total coverage of life insurance worth 2 lakhs of rupees on the death of a person. Two other financial programs were also adopted along with this scheme. These two schemes were Atal Pension Yojna and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha BimaYojna. Any bank holder between the age of 18 and 50 years can avail the benefits of Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti BimaYojna.

  • Sukanya SamridhhiYojna

The Narendra Modi Government under the famous “BetiPadhaoBetiBachao” campaign launched the Sukanya SamridhhiYojna on January 22nd, 2015.  The target of the Sukanya SamridhhiYojna is to promote the welfare of girl child and also meet the expenses for marriage and education of the daughters of India.  The account for the girl child can be opened anytime by the parents after the child turns ten. About half the amount can be withdrawn from the account to meet the expenses of education after the girl child turns eighteen. Sukanya SamridhhiYojna offers attractive interest of 8.6% to its account holders. Along with it, the scheme also provides for income tax benefits to females.

  • Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojna

Micro Units Development & Refinance Agency Ltd. is a new scheme or aid designed for the non-form sector, non-corporate, small and micro sectors whose credit needs will be below Rs. 10 Lakhs. This scheme was announced by the Modi government in the year 2016. Under this scheme,the loan can be applied to vehicles, business. There are three eligibility slabs of Rs. 50000, Rs. 500000 and Rs. 1000000 Which can be repaid by maximum 7 years of time.
