There are three doshas- Vata, Pitta, and Kapha, and these Doshas are formed from the five elements of life- air, water, fire, earth, and space.

Ayurveda Diet Plan as per Dosha
• Vata people should avoid raw food and salad and stay away from light, crunchy and dry snacks.
• Eat any kind of nuts except peanuts. Avoid cold drinks and caffeinated beverages.
• Eat comforting foods like soups, cooked cereals, and veggies, hot milk with spice, steamed veggies. Go for a salty diet.
Breakfast- Consume brown bread butter toast, fresh avocados, sautéed veggies, hot cereals- oatmeal, rice porridge, cream of wheat or rice, almond and date shake, or can have milk porridge with added dry fruits.
Lunch- Consume yellow lentil with cilantro, cucumber, and yogurt, kitchari with crispy okra, rice pasta with pesto, pine nuts, cheese, and black olives, or butternut squash soup.
Dinner- Sweet potato curry, baked sweet potato, soup, steamed green beans, or avocado rice.
• Don’t eat the food with pungent, salty, and spicy taste; avoid yogurt, cheese, acidic food, pickle, and citric fruits.
• Don’t use a salad dressing that is acidic. Instead, use a little bit of lemon juice.
• Try to consume cold served foods. Include fennel, licorice, and mint tea in your diet.
• Eat fruits like kiwi, plum, melon, and pomegranate. Consume warm milk, ghee, cottage cheese, and butter.
Breakfast- Start your day with a fruit salad with shredded coconut and raisins, date and almond shake with a pinch of cardamom and cinnamon, oatmeal or porridge with nuts, or avocado toast.
Lunch- Eat tofu with green veggies, red lentils with herbs and veggies, whole wheat pasta with veggies, or avocado fried rice.
Dinner- Consume Green lentil with rice, a wheat burger with veggies, or spiced steam rice with nuts and seeds.
• People with Kapha dosha should eat a small portion, especially at night. Avoid oily and fatty food, cold foods like beverages, ice-cream, frozen yogurt, etc. Also stay away from tofu, coconut, and banana.
• Eat light dry fruits and legumes. Stay clear of extra salty food. Use honey instead of sugar and consume dairy products like buttermilk, non-fat milk over butter, cream and yogurt.
Breakfast- Fresh fruits salad, stewed fruit, baked apple, barley or rice porridge, rice milk with rye toast, muesli with warm milk, green or black tea, or honey milk.
Lunch- Consume red lentils soup, steamed kale or spinach with olive oil, pepper, and lemon juice seasoning, vegetable soup, Kitchari, or black beans with sautéed veggies.
Dinner- Eat Toor dal or split pigeon pea lentil, quinoa, red lentils with rice or Potato soup.
