OVERNIGHT DESTINATIONS AROUND DELHI

How many of you love travelling at night? Well I am a solo traveler and I love travelling by night as it is so peaceful and I don’t feel too tired. Being in Delhi opens an easy way to many captivating overnight destinations where you can relish the moment to the fullest with your beloved family and friends. I have listed out the top overnight destinations around Delhi. I want you to take a look-see at this one.

I would like to keep Rishikesh on top of my list as it is a very relaxing overnight destination around Delhi. It is one of the best places to visit near Delhi within 200-300 km. When I took a holy bath into the river Ganga of this pilgrimage place, I felt really chilled out. Rishikesh is the Yoga Capital of our country. You can head towards the premises of any of its Ashram. I would recommend you to make a visit to Parmarth Niketan lying alongside the waterbody of rive Ganga. It is the biggest ashram and conducts a special program of Yoga and its evening Ganga Aarti is remarkable. While in Rishikesh, how can you forget to get the thrill out of white water rafting and camping? There are many rapids for rafting from grade I to V. Choose accordingly. Visit during summer to experience the best rafting. Go for sightseeing in top tourist destinations of Rishikesh such as Laxman Jhula, Neelkanth Mahadev Temple and Rajaji National Park. As journey by train is the best option to reach your overnight destinations from Delhi, you will arrive at Haridwar (nearest railhead to Rishikesh) first. If you have ample of time, stay in Haridwar and be priviledged to witness its spellbinding evening Ganga Aarti. Then head for the Rishikesh next day. It is the one stop destination for all the light-hearted people like you.

The next overnight destination I want to highlight is Jim Corbett National Park which again falls in the category of places near Delhi within 200-300 km. Within nearly six hour of road trip, you arrive at this dense forest land amidst Himalayas. Nestled in the beautiful Nainital District of Uttarakhand, the oldest national park of Asia is the abode of Bengal Tigers which unfortunately falls under the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. Jeep safari, bird watching, angling, fishing and hiking are the top things to do here. The park is spread into four safari zones with nice accommodations. Instead you can choose nearby luxury and budget resorts. Jim Corbett National Park is a cat’s meow for your weekend. Keep your wallet thick as there is no ATM inside the Park.

I cannot miss Jaipur to be one of the best overnight destinations around Delhi. Nearly seven hours of night journey takes you to the popular tourist places of Jaipur like Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar, City Palace, Albert Hall Museum and to many stunning monuments. Soak into the Royalty of Rajasthan. Go and see the Egyptian Mummy at Albert Hall Museum. Elephant Safari and Royal Safari in the premises of Amer Fort are the two best things to do here. Take your kids to Desert Safari. Visit Nahargarh Fort. Visit Choki Dhani Village Resort to enjoy Rajasthani Thalis with your family and friends. You must visit to watch this pink city.

Well overnight destinations around Delhi are countless. But I am ending my list with the beautiful hill station Dhanaulti between popular Mussoorie and Chamba. The Eco Park of Dhanaulti is an adventure park and a perfect picnic spot. The nearest railhead to Dhanaulti is Dehradun. You can also head to this place from Rishikesh and it will take only two hours. Camping is the top thing to do here. Dhanaulti houses many campsites with luxury tents with various adventure activities such as valley crossing, rafting, trekking etc. I personally like Camp Awara as I found it in the most spectacular area covered with mountain which changes its color throughout the day. I love to witness that and this is why I have listed it among the top overnight destinations around Delhi. Also it is very close to Kanatal. Now as you have got the four top overnight destinations around Delhi, choose according to your fancies.

As we all know, ‘Energy flows where attention goes’, so analyse where your attraction lies and make an overnight trip.
