Some interesting or different career options after Commerce

After finishing class 12th every student gets stuck on the question of what to do now, where to go. People apply to many courses even if not relevant to their stream of study and give entrances only with the thought that in whatever course they are selected they will make their career in that field.

A student should choose a career field keeping in mind their caliber, skills, and potential that is in relevance to their stream.

Following are some of the courses that a commerce student should opt after 12th

B.Com ( Bachelor of Commerce ) – The most common degree for a commerce student to study in a regular college or via distance education. The course contents have subjects like mathematics, economics, management, marketing, etc.

LLB ( Bachelor of Law ) – Law is a subject that opens doors to become a lawyer or an advocate to be able to practice and do internships in any law firm or in the higher court. It teaches subjects like property law, criminal law, constitutional laws, etc.

Bachelor of Economics – Another course for commerce students to study in college. The study of economics also teaches about statistics to a student. Economics is one of the many specializations in commerce stream.

BBA ( Bachelor of Business Administration ) – This is a course for a duration of 3 years. This course consists of subjects that teach about business administration, the various forms of business, its methods and aspects in the corporate world.

CA ( Chartered Accountant ) – CA is a course that is a lot more difficult as compared to any course. This course introduced by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has it’s on difficulty levels. There are many attempts by students to be able to crack this exam but only a few are the lucky ones who clear in their first attempt.

CS ( Company Secretary ) – This course has more theoretical subjects to study. If a student is interested in subjects like law this course is for them. The students study about legal compliance of the company and this has been introduced by The Institute of Company Secretaries of India.

CMO ( Cost Management Accounting ) – If a student wants to study and gain knowledge about costing, controlling and planning this course is for them which is introduced by the Institute of Cost Accountants of India.

Journalism and mass communication – This is a course that is fit for students from any stream and field. This course is for students who are interested in mass media and communications.

Hotel management courses – To anyone who doesn’t want to study theory and wants to gain real practical training this course is for them. A course in hotel management gives an insight into the hotel as well as the travel industry.

There are various other courses that are available to commerce students after their 12th such as a masters degree in international trade, masters in management studies, a degree in MBA which is the most common either after b.com, BBA or economics, masters in statistics, actuarial science, masters in commerce, a chartered financial analyst and even a certified financial planner to choose from.
