Karwa Chauth 2018: Date, Puja Muhurat Timing, Vrat Katha

According to the Hindu scriptures, mythological texts, Shastra, etc., Hindu calendar suggest some festivals or rites that occur every month. Of all these, the most important fast for married women is in the month of Kartik in Krishna Paksh Chathurthy. Her name is Karvachauth Hindus believe that if a married woman fasts on this day, it helps to prolong the life of their husbands, and also gives happiness to the family. This festival is celebrated by the majority of Hindus throughout India and the world, but most popular in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, etc. During the day of Carfashawth, women today are listening to the legendary stories, as the sun sets, eagerly awaiting the moon. When the moon is seen, the balconies of the houses are a scene in themselves. All the women who kept fasting during the day during her husband’s long life, after seeing the moon and worshiping it, take the first bite of food from her husband’s hand for the day. This fast also becomes a romantic festival, which symbolizes love between husband and wife.

Fasting in Karwa Chauth puja time begins before dawn around 4 am and breaks only when the moon is seen. Women eat “sargi” before sunrise granted in laws and dressed in wedding attire. On this day, people hear the story of Karwa Chauth shubh muhurat and the worship of Lord Shiva, his wife Parvati and Lord Ganesh.

Usually, this fast is maintained by women for 12 or 16 consecutive years after marriage, but if you wish, you can keep it for life. Hindus believe that there is no other fast is the same with regard to prayer in order to prolong the husband’s life.

Karo Chuat Muhurat is basically the time period in which Pooja can be performed on the day of fasting. This year, on October 27, 2018, when Karoa Chouth falls, it can be done for an hour and 18 minutes.

The estimated Moonrise timing for Karwa Chauth puja time 2018 is 07:55 PM. The moonrise timing is of great importance for women who keep fast on this day. As, for the whole day women keep fast and they wait impatiently for the Moonrise to break their fast. As per the rituals of the festival, they can break their fast and could drink water only after seeing the Moon. The fast is considered to be complete only after the women see the face of their husband and the moon together with Chalani decorated with Diya.

Karwa Chauth  agrees with Lord Sanchez Chathorathy on Lord Ganisha. Married women marry in karwa prayer quickly and rituals. They worship Lord Shiva and his family, including Lord Ganisha, and break only after seeing and offering offerings to the moon. The Karo-Shuth fasting means not to eat or water after dawn until the moon is seen at night.
