In a world where 6 out of 10 people own a smartphone, the best way to reach the target audience is through the medium that they spend the majority of their time in. Having a smartphone inadvertently declares the need for an application for the smoother functioning of a person’s daily life. In a time where everyone wants their activities cumulated and in a single platform, it surely doesn’t make sense to download multiple applications for highway utility when one is more than enough to address any issue that a commuter faces.
Keeping all of these factors into consideration, the National Highways Authority of India recently launched their very first highway utility application, Sukhad Yatra, a one-stop solution to every commuter’s problems. The final version of the application, developed by Com Vision (India) Pvt. Ltd., was launched on March 07 2018 by the honourable Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Mr Nitin Gadkari. The application received an overwhelming response by surpassing 25,000 downloads right after the first week of its launch. It currently has over 50,000 downloads with the number increasing every single hour.
When we mention “a one-stop solution”, it is because of its profound features. It is imbibed with seven distinct features for the smoother commute of a highway user. The primary features of Sukhad Yatra include Nearby Toll Plazas, Toll Plaza Enroute, Buy FASTag, Know Your Highway, Report An Issue, Report Summary, and Near By. Every single one of these features is customised to promote easy navigation on the highways.
Out of all these, the feature that stood out amidst them all was the “Report An Issue” feature. This accounts for the most important one in the lot because of the fact that it eases a major portion of the development of highway operations and infrastructure based on the opinions of its biggest stakeholders, the commuters. This section integrates all the complaints and grievances that the highway users have regarding their commute, authorities or even the road conditions. Not just that, these complaints are quickly acted upon and resolutions are implemented with immediate effect, the reports of which can be reviewed in the “Report Summary” section.
NHAI is currently in the process of upgrading the application for the smoothest user experience. This application has created uproar amidst the audience and all for the right reasons. This has not just simplified the highway experience for the commuters but has also ensured safety for them. With the implementation of the latest highway emergency number – 1033, NHAI is surely working to ensure a comfortable and safer journey for the commuters.
