India is a growing economy owing to its evolving infrastructural development and progressive implementation of projects. In this streak of launches initiated by the Government of India, the one that sure does stand out amidst the lot is Digital India. The project focuses on the empowerment of India with the integration of technology into every aspect of operations.
Concerning the promotion of the concept of Digital India a step further, the National Highways Authority of India proposed the project of Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) for the various policymakers and stakeholders around the world. This is set to modernise the litigation system, all the while ensuring to shift the paradigm from the old arbitration to a new type of arbitration that primarily focuses on the maintenance of cyber data.
Mr Akhilesh Srivastava, CGM (IT and Highway Operations) of NHAI has been elected to be part of the distinguished high powered committee on ODR. He has been working on this initiative along with several other officials to ensure improved transparency with regards to the legislative system. The ODR is expected to minimise any kind of manual record keeping and convert the entirety of it into a streamlined process with the best-attained accuracy.
Sharing his views on his LinkedIn profile recently, Mr Akhilesh Srivastava addressed the aspects of the government operation that will get a boost due to the implementation of the ODR. He further mentioned that the implementation of ODR has got the potential to revive the Construction Industry and wipe out any of the unwanted fraudulency in the system.
Not just that, Online Dispute Resolution is also expected to generate an array of employment in the software industry for the budding graduates and even the experienced professionals. It is expected for the youth of India to take the necessary training in this sector to avail the job opportunities that are going to sprout really soon. This system can effectively transform India into one of the best destinations for just International Arbitration.
Apart from this, Mr Srivastava also attended two national and international conferences as a representative of the National Highways Authority of India. In the 4th Annual Roads and Highways Summit, conducted by the International Road Federation of Geneva, he shared his views on the subject of OBOR (One Belt One Road) along with two other panellists. He also talked about his views on the concept of Highway Modernisation and the related aspects.
Exempting ODR, Mr Srivastava has been an avid contributor to the projects like Traffic Incident Management System and Road Assets Management System which focuses on the various aspects of highway operations. The latter being responsible for looking after the installed assets on the roads and highways and the maintenance of the same to ensure a better appearance of the highways. All in all, ODR is expected to not just streamline the work process concerning the litigation system of the country along with the other initiatives taken for the improvement of the overall highway infrastructure.
