How Long Does Kamagra Take to Work?

Kamagra is a well-known medicine used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). It has been around for a long time and has a great track record for its efficacy in treating ED. Kamagra is incredibly popular among men who suffer from ED because it is easily available online at an affordable price. In most men, Kamagra becomes effective within 60 minutes after taking the dose. Some men have experienced its effects in as little as 30 minutes, while others do not experience even after 60 minutes of taking the dose.

The effects of Kamagra generally last for up to four to six hours, with peak efficacy reaches after two hours of dosage. Men who do not experience any effects should ask their physician to increase the dose or for any alternatives. Experts often advise men to try Kamagra at least five times so that the drug gets used to the body.

Factors That Affect the Efficacy

• Food and Alcohol

If you eat a fatty meal, especially the one that contains high-fat foods before or after taking Kamagra, the drug may not work as fast as you expect. That is because the fatty food in your body slows down the absorption of the drug. On the flipside, the effects of Kamagra may be quicker if you take the dose on an empty stomach. And if are above 60 years, and/or have kidney or liver dysfunction, you may notice that the drug acts slowly.

Alcohol, typically, does not affect how well Kamagra works. However, it can counteract the efficacy. Alcohol can compromise your ability to get or keep an erection. Excessive alcohol intake can also affect your nervous system and increase the secretion of a hormone, angiotensin, which is also associated with impotence. While alcohol does not directly interact with Kamagra, you can have a small amount of it, per se, a small glass of wine or beer.

• Certain Drugs

There are certain drugs interact that may interact with Kamagra. For example, protease inhibitors (used for treating HIV) suppress the metabolism of Kamagra. And people taking protease inhibitors along with Kamagra would end up with a higher level of Kamagra in their bloodstream, which increases the risk of side effects such as headaches and vision changes.

If you take alpha-blockers for hypertension, you should be avoiding Kamagra, because the combination could cause a sudden fall in the blood pressure level. Also, men who take nitrates for chest pain should not take Kamagra, because such combination can also cause a sudden drop in blood pressure level.

Will Kamagra Work for You?

If you have ED but otherwise healthy enough for sexual activity with no serious health conditions (like heart problems) that contraindicate the use of Kamagra, it is much likely that Kamagra will surely work for you, supposing your ED has physiologic in nature. Kamagra, however, may not work if you have ED caused by psychological problems such as stress, depression or anxiety.

For most men with ED caused by poor blood flow to the penile organ, Kamagra (taken as instructed) works in about half an hour and the effects may last for up to four hours. However, certain factors such as alcohol, food, and certain drugs may affect the onset and duration of action.
