Career options for the law students in India

There are many options of career available in our life. But which one you want to choose is totally up to you. With the rise of modernization and liberalization, there is one profession that is required by most of the sectors including government and private – lawyer. Positions in private sector

There are many small and big organizations which require a corporate lawyer. You can choose yourself as only an adviser of the big company owners or their attorney.

After completing your law, you can practice for few times or then start your search of a suitable company in which you can do job of corporate lawyer or adviser.

Job opportunities in Government Sector

To become any one of them, a professional law degree from the best law college should be required.

• Indian legal service appoints for diverse posts as Legal advisors in the Department of Legal Affairs and Legislative Counsel in Legislative Department. These officers get endorsed to the post of Secretary to the Government of India after attaining requisite experience.

• Legislative counsel is also recruited in specific official languages – Wing of the Legislative Department for Hindi and other Regional languages (Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Oriya, Urdu, Bengali, Assamese, Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu).

• Likely, officers have requisite legal and professional qualifications are hired at state level too.
• Law officers or Legal advisors are required in all the ministries/departments/undertakings of the State Governments or Central Government. They are appointed via UPSC or State Public Service Commissions.

• Furthermore the members of Public Prosecutors, Law Commission, Government Advocates, Notaries, solicitors and Oath Commissioners, Advocate general, Attorney General, workforce at higher/lower judiciary/Quasi-Judicial institutions, Income tax, judicial members in CAT, Sales tax, Excise and other tribunals in accordance with the rules and vacant vacancies.

• Commissioned officers in the Indian Air force, Army, and Navy.

• Fresher can fill the positions for non-gazetted posts

• The designations of Sub-Judge personnel or Magistrate/Munsif is appointed via public service commissions. These posts are considered as the lowest judicial cadre posts which are looked after high court at sometimes.

To become any one of them your Age Limit is 35. In case, you want to become lawyer in Supreme Court, you have to study from the one of the best law colleges in India.
