Navigating through a National Highway is at times a very daunting task, the same augmenting to multiple folds when the commuter faces the lack of details concerning the same. The Sukhad Yatra application developed by Com Vision (India) Pvt. Ltd. was finally launched on March 07th 2018 by the Union Minister of Roads Transport and Highways, Mr Nitin Gadkari. This application is set to make every commuter’s experience a lot smoother and strategic. With the kind of features that are embedded in the application, it helps the commuter’s source, plan and trace their necessary amenities along with their journeys.
The application is imbibed with seven distinct features that help commuters pre-plan their trips with the “Toll Plaza Enroute” feature where the user can enter their source and destination and the application reverts with all the toll plazas that one will encounter throughout their journey. This in turn helps the highway users plan their halt spots as well. With the recent implementation of the wayside amenities around the toll plazas, this feature sure does come a lot in handy.
Augmenting the functionality of the Electronic Toll Collection, NHAI has ensured to include the “Buy FASTag” feature in the app which helps the commuters purchase the stickers directly from the app to avail the hassle-free toll tax payment option using the FASTag lane. This is one of the many reasons that have contributed to promoting transparency in the process of tax collection at the toll plazas.
The “Nearby” feature is yet another most frequently used feature on the Sukhad Yatra application. It helps in sourcing the nearby civic amenities, restaurants, petrol pumps, ATMs and even hospitals for any kind of emergency. This feature is a lot beneficial to aid the commuters to find any and every kind of important stops that they might require along their long distance journeys.
NHAI is also working on ensuring progressive development of the National Highways across India based on the inputs from the commuters and Highway users themselves. This is facilitated by the “Report an Issue” feature in the Sukhad Yatra application. The commuters can register their grievances in this section about any kind of issue that they might have encountered on the Highways, be it the lack of proper road conditions or improper behaviour projected by any of the toll operators.
This specific highway utility application has been developed to promote the convenience of travel for the commuters. The Sukhad Yatra application has a very smooth and easy user interface which makes it even easier to use and navigate. The application has received an overwhelming response from the audience if the number of downloads and the reviews and ratings is anything to go by. The number of downloads has exceeded the 50,000 mark and is increasing with each passing day.
