What to carry with you on GMAT test day?

GMAC (Graduate Management Admission Council) is one of the strict organizations when it comes to the rules and regulations. This why every applicant should take all the necessary documents to the test centers so that you can take the test at the scheduled time. Many GMAT exam preparation institutions counsel the candidates regarding this important thing.

Necessary Documents You Need to Have

A Valid GMAT Approved Photo ID

You must bring a valid photo ID that has already been approved by the GMAC. If you don’t bring a photo ID or a photo ID doesn’t qualify the necessary criteria which are mentioned below, you’ll not be allowed to take the exam. All the GMAT preparation done by you will come to an end with you being disheartened. So, make sure your ID qualifies the given criteria.

A valid photo ID must have all these:

  • Your name with the Roman alphabet (important note for the test-takers in countries that don’t use the Roman alphabet).
  • Your date of birth should exactly match with the one you registered with.
  • Most recent recognizable photograph of yours
  • Your signature, of course!

If your photo ID doesn’t qualify all these criteria you won’t be allowed to take the test. So, make sure to check every minute details because it takes some time to replace a passport and a driving license. These IDs are accepted for the GMAT: international passport, government-issued driving license, military ID card and government-issued national/state/province ID card.

Names of the Five B-Schools Where You Need to Send GMAT Scores

Remember, your GMAT fee includes the cost of sending your score to the selected five B-schools from your side. Make sure you bring the list of these five schools with you at the time of the exam. It’s always a good idea to bring this because you don’t want any extra free to be invested later on to send your scores at a later date. You’ll always have time to select up to five B-schools you are looking to get admission into.

Appointment Confirmation Letter or E-mail

Make sure you bring your appointment confirmation letter or email to the GMAT exam test center in case any discrepancy arise regarding the date and time of the exam, you can confirm the same with its help.

Directions to the Test Center

With a printed format of the test center direction or the saved Google Map direction to your test center enables you to reach there without any confusion. This will ultimately help you saving time and reducing stress. Make sure you leave for the test center at least one hour before the expected time to reach there to compensate for other factors such as traffic jams, etc. Having printed direction to the test center can help you in circumstances such as mobile battery shutdowns and other technical factors that can hamper your time.
