Sukhad Yatra’s – ‘Know–Your–Highway’ Feature Eases Highway Commuter’s Journey

Some motorists have difficulty in remembering road routes and following signboards and road markings. Though there are Google maps as a guide, there isn’t a dedicated application addressing commuter problems.

Addressing such issues of commuters, the National Highway and Authority of India(NHAI) with the help of Comvision (India) Pvt. Ltd. launched a mobile application named Sukhad Yatra, which roughly translates to “comfortable travel” that caters to issues that most commuters face while driving on the national highways.

Sukhad Yatra is a standalone digital guide for commuters to travel along State and national highways, and it provides a wide spectrum of services in comparison to general mapping technologies. The features include Nearby Toll Plaza(s), Toll Plaza Enroute, Buy FASTag, Know Your Highway, Report An Issue, Report Summary, Near By, and Rate Us.

The application demands decent Internet connectivity to run, and its User Interface is easy to understand and operate. Sukhad Yatra’s Know Your Highway is a unique tool that allows users to map the shortest routes to their destination on highways.

For instance, if a user is travelling from Chennai to Hyderabad, they can use the feature to locate the shortest route in terms of speed, distance and time taken. Users just need to enter the source and destination, and the application will instantly show the best-suited results.

Sukhad Yatra’s “Know Your Highway” cuts downs off-route issues of commuters by providing them with the locations to the nearest highway. Apart from benefiting commuters, the highway utility app can act as a powerful tool for new cargo drivers to understand routes and highway connectivity, and to track the nearest highway routes.

The NHAI’s Sukhad Yatra provides first-of-its-kind digital highway amenities solutions for the citizens of the country. On the other hand, it also complements the NHAI and the government’s other projects, such as Digital India and national highways modernisation.

According to government analytics, the application is receiving a lot of acceptance from users as the ratings have gone up. Nearly 40,000 users have availed the features of Sukhad Yatra on their mobile phones. On an average, 250 users are downloading this application, and the rate is growing at a rapid pace.

Sukhad Yatra eases commuter’s journey by enhancing the commuter experience, enabling users to track the nearest location, facilitating electronic toll payments, and allowing users to report issues, make reviews, and rate highway system and services instantly. The NHAI’s vision and endeavours not only enhance the commuter experience but also accelerates the notion of Digital India.
