Let your boss know

Whenever you are willing to make the announcement about your pregnancy at your workplace make sure that your boss is the first one to know. It will help in having a faithful association with your employer during this phase, and it is indeed more reliable if your boss gets to know about this news from you instead of getting to know about it from someone else.

Frequent snack-breaks

While being at the office it is necessary that a frequent intake of a healthy snack should be done. One should keep a stash of food items at their workplace or even carry it with them while traveling to work. The blood sugar level may go down at any time, thus it is essential that the expecting mother should keep eating frequently.

Get enough rest

While being at the workplace it can occur that the workload may make you tiresome, resulting in drowsiness and feeling of exhaustion. It is suggested that during the phase of pregnancy the expecting mothers should go to sleep early. Taking plenty of rest during these days is essential so that a total output at work can be given while being careful about the health as well. Also after the baby has arrived, it becomes very difficult to have an undisturbed sleep and rest.

Scheduled doctor’s appointment

During this phase, it should be taken care of the fact that the scheduled appointments with the specialized gynecologists, doctors, and obstetricians at the specific mother and childcare hospital should never be missed. If the hospital is nearby the workplace the expecting mother can even pay a visit during the lunch breaks. It is also recommended the employer must be told about your scheduled appointments with the doctors and approval regarding your medical leaves, half-days or maternity leaves should be taken beforehand.

Wear comfortable clothes

Though your office might have a certain dress code it is of the utmost importance that during this phase comfortable and cozy clothes should be worn. Even a comprehensive range of cozy yet fashionable clothes suitable for work are available for purchase everywhere now.

Safety precautions

When at the office it should be taken care of the fact that the working place does not provide appalling conditions. If possible one should ask the employer to allot a certain place that is easy to reach and has a very cozy environment for the expecting mother.

Dealing with morning sickness

Many factors may cause a buildup of nauseated feelings even when at the office, try best to avoid such places and maintain a distance from smoke and smells that might trigger queasiness. It is also recommended that eating recurrently will also help to avoid the nauseous moods.

Completing work before maternity leave

Plan the work schedule accordingly and prepare yourself for the maternity leave. Complete all the tasks that might remain pending if not completed before the leave. Schedule your work accordingly and focus on completing all the work beforehand so that stress may not get buildup later on.

Controlling the stress

Stress may cause an immense effect during pregnancy. The buildup of stress during pregnancy may exert certain complex effects on health. If it is occurring, that during this phase that the pregnant woman is feeling stressed out, they should try doing certain things pre-handed to avoid such situations such as:

  • Prioritize the work.
  • Try to discuss it out with work colleagues.
  • Listen to calm and soothing music.
