Structural Seamless Steel Pipe Material Type And Application

The environment in which seamless steel pipes for structural applications are applied varies, and the material chosen will vary. Many factors will affect the service life of structural seamless pipes or ssaw steel pipes, ie, chemical products and their concentrations, atmospheric conditions, temperatures, and time. Therefore, if you do not understand the characteristics of structural seamless steel pipe materials, it is difficult to use materials and select materials.

Structural seamless steel pipe material types and various types of features and applications:
Type 304 is used throughout the materials used. In the building can withstand the general corrosion, can withstand the corrosion of food processing media (but the high temperature state containing concentrated acid and chloride components may be eroded), can resist organic compounds, dyes and a wide range of inorganic compounds throughout.

Type 304L (low carbon), good resistance to nitric acid, and durable moderate temperature and concentration of sulfuric acid, used as a liquid gas storage tank for cryogenic equipment (304N), other consumer products of appliances, kitchen equipment, hospital equipment, transportation Tools, wastewater treatment devices.

Type 316 contains slightly more nickel than Type 304, and contains 2%-3% molybdenum. It has better corrosion resistance than Type 304, especially in chloride media that is preferentially causing point erosion. Type 316 has been developed for use as a sulphite pulper because it is durable to sulfuric acid compounds. And, its use has been enlarged to handle many chemical products in the processing industry.

Type 317 contains 3% to 4% of molybdenum (which is also the higher level obtained in this series), and contains more chromium than Type 316, with higher resistance to pitting and crevice erosion.

Type 430 is lower in content than Type 304 alloys and is used for high-polishing applications in warm atmospheres. It can also be used as nitric acid and food processing equipment.

Model 410 has the lowest alloy content among the three general purpose stainless steels and requires high strength components such as sturdiness for strength and corrosion resistance. The Model 410 resists corrosion in a warm
atmosphere, in water vapor, and in many moderate chemical product media.

Type 2205 is superior to Type 304 and Type 316 because of its high resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking.
